GoodScoreKeymasterYour credit score shows how well you handle loans and credit cards. It’s a 3-digit number that helps lenders decide if you’re trustworthy for credit. In India, there are four major credit bureaus: CIBIL, CRIF, Experian, and Equifax. Each gives a slightly different score based on your financial data.
What is a Credit Score
A credit score is a summary of your credit behaviour, including your payment record, credit card usage, and loan history. The score ranges from 300 to 900, and anything above 750 is considered good. Different bureaus calculate it differently, so slight variations between scores are normal.
Types of Credit Scores in India
1. CIBIL Score (by TransUnion CIBIL)
This is the most commonly used credit score in India. Almost all banks and NBFCs check it before approving loans or credit cards.
Range: 300 to 900
How to check: Visit the official CIBIL website, enter your PAN, verify via OTP, and download your report (free or paid version available).2. CRIF High Mark Score
CRIF is another central credit bureau used by many fintechs and lenders across India.
Range: 300 to 900
How to check: You can check your CRIF score on the GoodScore app using your PAN and mobile number after OTP verification.3. Experian Credit Score
Experian is widely used by private banks and NBFCs to assess creditworthiness.
Range: 300 to 900
How to check: Go to the Experian India website, enter your details, verify with an OTP, and get your free score once a year.4. Equifax Credit Score
Equifax provides credit reports that some lenders use for additional verification.
Range: 300 to 900
How to check: Visit the Equifax India portal, fill out the request form, and receive your report via email. What You Need to Check Your Credit Score
