Most credit report errors in India typically get fixed in around 30 days, because the lender usually gets time to verify and the credit bureau then updates it. For example, CRIF High Mark says it will provide a resolution to a dispute within 30 days of receiving it, and shares a ticket number for tracking. (CRIF High Mark) TransUnion CIBIL also says dispute resolution usually takes about 30 days, depending on how fast the credit institution responds. (CIBIL) So if you’re disputing something like a wrong overdue or a loan showing active after closure, raise the dispute online, also email the lender’s grievance team with proofs (statement, closure letter), and track the ticket. If it still doesn’t move even after 45–60 days, that’s when escalation makes sense because the standard “normal” window is basically one month. (CIBIL)
