Short answer
One loan rejection does not permanently spoil your chances, but it can affect future approval in the short term, mainly because of the credit inquiry and the reason for rejection.
When you apply, the lender pulls your credit report. That creates a “hard enquiry”. One enquiry is normal. But if you apply to many lenders quickly, multiple enquiries show up, and it can look like you are desperate for credit. That can reduce approval chances for the next few months.
A rejection itself is not the problem. The reason behind it is. Common reasons in India:
If that reason remains, the next lender will also likely reject.
If you got rejected, waiting 30–90 days is usually sensible. Use that time to fix the issue. If you apply again immediately without changes, chances are low.
One rejection is not a big deal. Multiple back-to-back rejections are. Pause, fix the reason, then apply. Thoda patience rakho, approval chances improve ho jaate hain.
