Usually, an education loan does show up on your credit report even before EMI repayment starts, because the loan gets reported once it’s sanctioned and disbursed. Still, during the official moratorium period, you’re generally not marked as late just because EMIs haven’t started yet. (Reserve Bank of India) The key is this: a moratorium is a repayment holiday, not an interest holiday, so interest still accrues in most cases and may get added to the loan later. (Reserve Bank of India) Your credit score impact is usually neutral to mildly positive (credit history starts building), unless your loan has a condition like paying interest during moratorium, and you miss that, or the account is wrongly reported as overdue. Bas yahi cheez check karo: in your lender app/statement, loan status should look “regular/standard”, not overdue, and keep any required payments on time. If something looks off after a month or two, raise it early with the lender because corrections take time.
